Belle de Jour Inspires Filipino Youth to Dream with Freedom to Dream 2019 Summit
Last April 13, Viviamo! Inc., makers of the Belle de Jour Power Planner, lead the first Freedom to Dream Summit at the Red Carpet Cinema, Shangri-La Plaza. The objective of the event is to inspire and encourage the Filipino youth to discover their dreams, pursue their passions, and make a difference.
What is your dream?
According to the study, 7 out of 10 Filipinos do not have a dream in life. Reasons include discouraging words from others, a lack of self-esteem, lack of passion, lack of opportunities, and poverty.
Addressing the needs of Filipino youth
The Freedom to Dream summit is composed of three plenary sessions, addressing the barriers that contribute to the lack of dreaming.
Plenary 1: Raising Self-Worth
This session aims to address the discouraging words spoken against the Filipino youth, and the self-esteem issues that resulted from this. Raising self-worth means having faith in oneself and believing that they are worthy of living the life they want.
The session was led by Dr. Gia Sison, a mental health advocate and host of “G Talks” on CNN Philippines, Rezza Custodio Soriano, a life coach and “transformologist,” and Gretchen Ho, a sports and lifestyle news anchor.
Plenary 2: Igniting Your Passion
This session encouraged the participants to find the purpose and passion that excites them and invite them to have the drive to stand up and persevere despite experiencing day-to-day challenges.
This talk featured Prim Paypon, Filipino Dreamagineer and founder of The Dream Project PH, along with Aimee Hashim, lifestyle consultant and founder of LoveLuxe Trading Inc.
Plenary 3: Making It Happen
Last but not least, participants learned how to maximize their resources and act on their goals, despite the lack of opportunities and abject poverty.
Sherill Quintana, the multi-awarded entrepreneur behind Oryspa Spa Solutions Inc., led the session with Jessica Lopez, an artist, and Maningning Miclat Art 2018 awardee.
To cap off the event, two keynote speakers are known for their youth-oriented advocacies: Jose Villanueva, also known as singer-songwriter Quest, and Darlyn Ty-Nilo, president of Viviamo and creator of the Belle de Jour Power Planner.
A special advocacy expo was set up to showcase the causes supported by Viviamo! 100% of the summit’s net proceeds are set to be handed over to charity organizations, extending the spirit of empowerment to female victims of rape and abuse, people living with HIV, students, and more.
